Dear Santa, my name is Ruger and I'm searching for a new home for Christmas. You see... I've been in rescue for a while now, and for some reason people keep over looking me. I'm very happy my dog friends are finding great homes, and that's what I'm looking for too! Here's a little about me...I'm three years old and I have a nice compact athletic build....some might say I'm the perfect size. My shiny black coat is to die for...am I bragging? Being a young fella, I'm an energetic boy, so I'd be great for someone who loves to run or hike. If they have a fenced yard that would be great too because I love to play ball, but as long as a new family understands I need daily exercise a fence is not mandatory. I already know some obedience commands and I walk pretty well on leash. I'm house and crate trained, but please know as with any dog, at first I might need reminders. I'm looking for a family that has previously owned a working breed dog, because I know rules and structure will bring out the best in me. While I like kids, older children would be better suited for me. I have something call prey drive, so I can not go to a home with cats or small critters, and I'd be best as an only dog.
